Rejuvenescence – optimal health through self healing.

Rejuvenescence is a form of holistic medicine started by Dr. Benjamin H. Thurman which aims for Optimal Health through self healing consciousness, bio-energetic balancing, nutrition detoxification and bioidentical hormones. Its foundation is based on certain philosophies that may disagree with some assumptions of traditional medicine such as the symptom being the disease, disease care is health care, one paradigm treats all, and waiting for symptoms of illness to manifest before seeking treatment and that the body is incapable of healing itself. It seeks not to replace traditional and conventional paradigm of surgery and drugs but complement or aid it in helping people achieve optimal state of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual fitness.

This may seem ridiculous to some, especially the narrow-minded ones since it delves into using unconventional techniques such as Self healing consciousness, Nutritional supplementation, Metabolic typing diets, Bio-identical hormones, Detoxification, Age management, Homeopathy, Acupuncture, Prolotherapy, Color Therapy and Emotional Clearing. But it doesn’t mean that the treatment is not effective. All we need is a little faith. If we can put our faith in the sugar pills that gave us what we call the placebo effect, why can’t we put our trust in a treatment that utilizes techniques that has been practiced and that has showed positive results for several decades.

Dr. Thurman, having studied medical science himself doesn’t deny the fact that traditional medicine and the paradigm of surgery and drug is indeed vital in preserving human life. But he has seen some flaws and misconceptions especially for lingering illnesses and disease, thus he sought for answers and was able to find it in alternative medicine. He found out that treating the symptom of the disease is not treating the cause of the disease, it’s just like disabling the smoke alarm but not really putting out the fire. He also found out that what traditional medicine really does is treat sickness, not really provide health care coz health care really implies preventive medicine, meaning to say, you are preventing any impending attack of illnesses. Another realization was that what they have been trained and certified to do is not really effective to everyone because we are all unique in a lot of ways. Lastly, he also realized that there is an internal healer in each and every one of us and that the health care provider is merely just a facilitator.

Taking all of these into consideration, we cannot really dismiss the fact that this form of treatment can be effective and can even surpass the effectiveness of some conventional methods we’re already used to. All we really need is put a little faith in it for it to go a long way. Nothing would really be effective if we have already etched in our minds that whatever will be presented to us will not work.
